Life is a gift filled with many joys but also times of great difficulty, messiness, and uncertainty. My desire is that individuals, couples, and families do not navigate those difficult times alone but feel valued and supported while they learn strategies to cope and adapt in healthy ways. As your therapist I will provide support, empathy, psychoeducation, various therapy modalities, and/or spiritual guidance. We will work together to find what you desire from therapy and identify your goals.

Having navigated difficult things in my personal life, I understand the importance of having a trustworthy team. My journey through life’s hardships and disappointments is how God led me to Social Work as my second career. I understand parenting (as a mom of 5), divorce, domestic abuse, church hurt, and blended family. I am also a cancer survivor. My worldview and perspective is grounded in God’s Word. As my client, you make the decision whether to include faith in your therapy and as a therapist I believe it is important that clients know the worldview their clinician holds.

Some of what my graduate coursework has included are: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy, trauma theory, psychopathology, marriage & family therapy, and Biblical & Christian counseling. I also completed my BSW internship work, currently volunteer, and serve on one advisor board of two local domestic violence agencies. I hold a dual major bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Bible and Theology from Kuyper College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and am currently pursuing my master’s in Social Work from Dordt University in Northwest Iowa. Previous to seeking my college education, I worked as a hairstylist for over 20 years. I look forward to meeting you!
