Meet Haley Joseph, Life Coach & Artist

grand rapids life coach

It’s an honor to walk with you.

Life as a woman often includes seasons of transition—times of change, moments of feeling stuck, and seasons where something inside us longs for more. My own journey has been shaped by many of these experiences as I’ve navigated the joys and challenges of motherhood while raising four children who are now stepping into adulthood. Along the way, I’ve worn many hats: social worker, homeschool mom, wife, hobby farmer, artist, and life coach.

I also know what it means to walk through deep personal challenges, including healing from spousal sexual addiction, home displacement, abandonment, and spiritual abuse. Those experiences have taught me the power of healing in the presence of compassionate support. They are part of what allows me to sit with others in a way that is grounded, empathetic, and hopeful.

It is a true honor to walk alongside women in their own seasons of growth and healing. While your story may be different from mine, I believe your story matters deeply—and that your experiences, desires, and dreams are worthy of care and attention.

My passion is creating a safe space where women feel seen, heard, and valued. While I offer support from a Christian perspective, I deeply honor each client’s preferences. You are always free to decide if, when, or how faith becomes part of our work together. Sessions are led by your comfort, your goals, and your needs.

Background & Training

I work with teens and adults who are navigating trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, anxiety, depression, and the effects of abuse. I provide individual, couples, and family counseling, with particular experience in trauma stemming from domestic abuse and coercive control, sexual abuse, and religious or church hurt.

I am a Christian, and I believe the Holy Spirit has given you the power and capacity to move toward what is good, right, and true. At the same time, I recognize that many people have been harmed by a church, particular teachings of a church, or spiritual authority. We will gently and respectfully navigate faith, trauma, and church hurt at your pace, and I will never pressure forgiveness or impose beliefs. Healing does not need to be hurried.

Clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where their hopes, dreams, and struggles are met with compassion and curiosity. Together, we create space for clarity, courage, and possibility.

Whether you’re longing to write the book that’s been living inside you, step into a new season with confidence, or become the woman, friend, mother, or grandmother you hope to be, I would be honored to support you. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

When I’m not working with clients, you’ll likely find me juggling several art projects at once, enjoying the beauty of the Lake Michigan shoreline with my family, or getting lost in a good book.

What is it like to work with me as your therapist?

I am a deeply attentive and compassionate listener. You don’t need to organize your thoughts or find the “right” words for them to matter. Part of my role is helping you slow things down and make sense of what you’re carrying, without pressure or judgment. I believe the relationship between therapist and client is important to healing, and this is one relationship in which you are allowed to take up space. I will show up as genuine, steady, and present, and you can expect honesty, care, and respect. I will laugh with you, cry with you, and celebrate with you. I will sit with you in the hard places, gently but directly challenge you when needed, and always honor your boundaries and autonomy. You won’t need to protect me from your pain or convince me of your experience. I believe you, and your story is safe with me.

What will our work together look like?

Our work will move at the pace of your nervous system. I believe in solution-focused counseling without rushing. Healing does not need to be forced to be effective. Sometimes our work will focus on insight and understanding; other times it will be about grounding, support, or taking thoughtful steps forward. Safety, stability, and trust are the foundation of everything we do. Together, we will work to:

  • Understand patterns, beliefs, and experiences shaping your current challenges

  • Build practical tools for emotional regulation, clarity, and resilience

  • Gently process trauma without overwhelming or retraumatizing you

  • Strengthen your voice, sense of agency, and ability to make empowered choices

  • Make room for faith, doubt, grief, anger, joy, and questions - without pressure or agenda

  • Make sense of your story, and also accept that some parts of it might not make sense.
